WHAT IS YOUR MOTIVATION?
Striving to find the right training plan, make the necessary tweaks to improve performance, and race smarter and faster.
WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST ACCOMPLISHMENT?
Winning the 2006 Ultraman World Championship, a three-day, 320 mile annual endurance race held on the Big Island of Hawaii. The race is divided into three stages over three days: Stage one is 6.2-mile ocean swim, followed by a 90-mile cross-country bike ride, with vertical climbs that total 6,000 feet. Stage two is a 171.4-mile bike ride from Volcanoes National Park to Kohala Village Inn in Hawi, with total vertical climbs of 4,000 feet. Stage three is a 52.4-mile (84-km) double-marathon, which starts at Hawi and finishes on the beach at the Old Kona Airport State Recreation Area.
WHO IS YOUR HERO?
Anyone who gets out and pushes themselves in life, sport or work is a hero to me. Overcoming adversity is hero material in my book!
WHAT DO YOU ENJOY THE MOST ABOUT YOUR SPORT?
Ultra trail running is so pure and there's no hiding. The terrain is always changing under your feet and the beautiful and amazing places you get to explore and enjoy during training and races are a sweet reward.
WHY IS TAKING CARE OF YOUR FEET IMPORTANT TO YOU?
In my sport your feet take a pounding, not only do I need protection and support during, but need to treat my feet right in between work, training and racing.
